What view of people or issues are being conveyed to the audience

Hollyoaks- the views that are being conveyed to the audience are women to be very daring, as a girl is eating an apple from a tree. This can be conveyed as a sin, from a biblical story of Adam and Eve.  The actress that is taking the apple from the tree can be conveyed to be the seductive lady that all men within the drama like .Men have very bold backgrounds within the mise-en-scene, this is showing their personality and what sort of characteristics they have. Another character within Hollyoaks is a Villain he was shown to be throwing cards. This may imply that he may like to trick people and this also shows that he has come intelligence because being a magician is not easy.

Tudors - There was a character with a gold embroaded jacket , this shows that he is very wealthy . The men who attacked the man within the scene are a shown wearing the same clothes. This may mean that they are part of the kings army ,compared to moerdern society they can be seen to be aprt of a gang

Who is being represented?

Hollyoaks – the people who are represented within Hollyoaks are young people. They are repsrented to be young and free having fun within their life. Men are portrayed to be handsome and quirky this is shown within the mise-on –scene. Women are represented to be sexy and they are dressed as if they were going out. They can be portrayed to be very dominating within the opening sequence.

Tudors – men are repsresnted to be very dark and serious ; as there was an very violent scene , this shows that they are very masciline .  There is

not a women within the scene this is an underrepresented of females.  As within the tudor era men was the most dominate.  A character within the scene is attackedv and left, this shows that people have no compassion for others , as he was left to die .

How far do the representations challenge or conform to dominant representations and ideologies?

Hollyoaks –conform to the ideologies within today’s society, women appear to be skinny and perfect. They are seen to have the ideal body and nice hair and a pretty face this fits the ideologies that the media presents to use. The camera has positioned the camera to make the women look taller and have a skinner face. There was a representation of gay people this is fitting the ideologies within society, he is portrayed to be famine and not to serious. Moreover another ideology that is within Hollyoaks is the villain he appears to be quite dark, as hew is dressed in black, this is typical convention of a television drama.

Tudors – does fit thev idelogies of society within the Tudor era , as men are seeen to be dominate , as women were not shown within gthe scene . In the tudor era men are seen to be the provider and women are seen to be the stay at home wife . Another ideology that the tudors meet is  men user to fight for the power , this is shown within Tudors.

EXT: how far is the audience positioned to take up a preferred view?

Hollyoaks – this takes up a preferred view as women are represented to be very flirtatious and concientious of their appearance, this does fit the preferred view. As women within society are seen to slim and very sexy and Hollyoaks shows this. Men are shown to have a preferred view as they are also very contiencous of their appearance. This is realistic, as men want to seem attractive to the opposite sex.

Tudors – this  does take the perfered view of men in the ear of the tudirs , as they are represnted to be very powerful and dominate ; however women are seen to be less important.
